Butcher Block Refinishing Project

Here are a few pics of a side project we recently completed. This maple butcher block measures just under 6' x 7' and was originally finished in a hard varnish. We sanded it down, starting with a floor sander and eventually by hand with 220 grit sandpaper. We finished the butcher block off with a resilliant food-safe and "re-finishable" tounge oil we discovered in Maine. (5 coats of it). It passed our own "red-wine" test when we poured a glass on it, and wiped up without the slightest hint of a stain.
