The day we finished painting inside, it was 9 degrees outside.
The original deck was removed and a new one constructed in it's place. With 6x6 timbers, the deck is solid enough to park a car on it. With the custom designed pergola atop, it's also elegant enough for a summer party.
The two story addition measures roughly 16' x 22' and includes a work shop in the lower level.
With a mild winter, we were able to work outdoors right up to the middle of January. I believe this shot was taken at the beginning of December.
The homeowner, an avid gardner, plans to train a flowering vine to climb up the deck and over the pergola to provide extra shade in the summer time.
