Inspiration for this tiny little 1/2 (ok, lets call it a 1/4 bath) came from a magazine article our client found last year. We removed the old Formica counter top, the toilet, and three layers of linoleum that dated back at least 50 years. New hexagon and square tile was installed with light gray grout. A pedestal sink and nearly perfect match Kohler toilet were added as well. The finishing touch, the simple shelves above le toilette; the photo below was the inspiration.
The homeowner did a wonderful job painting the shelves before installation. There's a little touchup left to do, but the oilbased paint should prevent sticky rings and spots that are common with latex.
The unique porcelian sink has was saved and is heading to the backyard garden this spring.
