Pergola on Lake Avenue

Built from American Red Cedar timbers ranging in size from 2x4 to 8x8 and reinforced with steel, this Pergola was a real treat to design and build. 3/8" thick by 3" tall plate steel was used to reinforce the cedar timbers and to ensure that the structure will stand without bow or bend for years to come. The final touch to conceal all of the bolts and brackets are a series of 3/16" copper straps that have already begun to age to a timeless patina.  Click on any image to enlarge.
