Paloma Encaustic 8x8 tile inlay shower niche.
The original kitchen. This was taken from the front of the house facing back. The kitchen windows are on the left and the 1950's 8x16 addition is through the back door.
In the design phase we removed a wall and opened up the kitchen to the dining and living room. The stove was originally planned to be located in the peninsula in the foreground, but...
During demo we found that the original chimney bricks were in beautiful condition. We just couldn't remove them as planned.
Instead they were cleaned and sealed and became a focal point of the new kitchen and the adjacent dining/living room. The stove was moved to the back wall of the kitchen. Grateful for some flexible clients who saw the potential for an unexpected WOW factor. Click on the photo to get a closer look at the brick.
Standing in the corner by the stove, looking toward the dining/living room.
Kitchen hood by Straightline Design. Thanks Randy!
Wine fridge on the left, guest bath on the right.
Kohler "Memories" pedestal sink. Purchased at Lowes.
Behind the kitchen, leading from the back yard is the mudroom. The design is above and the finished product is below...
Straightline designed the lockers for us and we were able to convince the homeowner to re-purpose one of the original 5-panel doors for the closet at the top of the steps. Ok, it didn't take much convincing. They had great taste and jumped on the opportunity to incorporate the old with the new.
On the 2nd floor of the addition we added a master bedroom and converted one of the original bedrooms into a master bathroom. The design is above and the finished bathroom is below.
We were able to re-purpose another beautiful original 5-panel door. The mortise lock-set took a little tweaking, but well worth the effort.
