Cinton Street 2

As aspiring craftsmen, we can't help but feel a deep connection to those who came before us when we have the opportunity to work on homes that were constructed over a century ago. This little gem on Clinton Street in downtown Grand Haven was no exception. Teddy Roosevelt was president the last time these boards saw daylight.

This photo was taken from our 60' lift. This view reminded me of a child's dollhouse.

The photos are a little out of sequence and I wish I had a few more shots to share. Be that as it may, here we are lifting the new 2x6 walls into place. The addition measured approximately 36' x 24' and created some great interior space for the expanded kitchen, dining room, and mudroom.

Because of the tight spaces in old homes, we installed a Bilco door for easy access to the finished basement.
