If the completed project looks brand new but at the same time appears as if it could have been the original home constructed over 100 years ago, then we've done our job right. This particular project felt pretty close to a home run and was a nice fit in the neighborhood.
I almost forgot to mention, this project was an "in-house" design and build project! Below is a computer-generated image of the design.
And here is what we started with...
While the home was lifted for the new foundation and basement to be built beneath it, we"pushed" it back 22". This small move created enough space so that a 6' wrap-around porch could be added and still conform to the City's building setback requirements. The homeowners wanted a second-story balcony added off of the master suite so that they could enjoy their own private veranda & bring the kids up to watch the fireworks over downtown Grand Haven.
